Great Movie Scenes #016: Fargo (1996)

The TV show “adaptation” of the hit film Fargo has turned my world upside down. Not only is it the most well written, and incredibly cast show, but it enhances the original source for some strange reason. It’s not like there is a real connection between the characters but it somehow makes this area of America captivating. But before we got the show giving us literally gold coming out of character’s mouths we would get moments like this in the film:

25 Favorite Films: No Country For Old Men (2007)

This article could go a bunch of different ways. I could go on how the Coens created a gorgeous crime epic or how Javier Bardem’s Anton Chigurh became a classic villain overnight. What ultimately drives this movie though is not Bardem or even Josh Brolin. This movie is subtly all about Tommy Lee Jones’s Sheriff character and you only realize it by the very end of the film. I remember watching this originally and found it so strange we end this on Jones considering what happens beforehand. A lot of scenes involving shootouts, chases, and Woody Harrelson in a cowboy hat somehow doesn’t translate to an ending where an old man contemplates a dream. But, again, it bares to repeat that this is HIS movie despite the focus never really being on him.

Most Anticipated Films of 2015: July-December

Here is part two of what I deem to be the most anticipated films of this year. Since we are going on the second half most either have no trailers or even posters to go along with. So I hope my description of these will be enough to make you wanna go out and watch them. The studios are counting on it…
